About Dr. Mike Marshall
A fierce advocate for eliminating baseball pitching injuries, Dr. Marshall relentlessly pursued the innovation of safer pitching approaches, training, and techniques ….particularly with youth and young adult pitchers.
Mike achieved unmatched success during his fourteen years playing Major League Baseball, blazing the trail as the first relief pitcher to win the Cy Young Award and setting numerous records that still stand today.
After retiring as a baseball pitcher in Major League Baseball, Dr. Mike Marshall pursued his true passion, to educate. He taught and coached at Division II colleges. In the late 1990’s, he started “Dr. Mike Marshall’s Pitching Services”, providing on-site pitching education and training.
Driven to innovate, Mike pioneered a controversial pitching motion and several baseball pitching training methods. Criticized at the time, many of his forward-thinking innovations are now mainstream.
While he left us too soon, passing away in May 2021, his legacy continues to promote a greater understanding of pitching and its biomechanics, and to inspire further advances in pitching injury prevention.
